I've submitted a bunch. Hearing the excuse that everyone has the same problem doesn't cut it.

On the forums? If you mean the forums, you will notice that yellows go through the posts and inform about plans to fix, etc.

What do you mean robot reports? Who did you send it too?

As far as I can tell, this is your first post in the GIB Robot Discussion.

So the question becomes, what kind of info did you include in your report from a "tournament"?

A bad bid by a robot?
A bad play by a robot?
A funny result or results by a different player in a tournament?

Anything posted in this forum is read. I can't say if something you sent somewhere else is read unless we know where you sent it.

Hmm, shouldn't BBO employee know the features of their own software?

With flash client, when playing robot tournament, if you click on a result, you get option of export deal -> send robot report. These take a comment, and presumably send a copy of the deal to some address. He's asking if anyone is getting these messages, looking at them, addressing the bugs.

I see georgi post a bunch of bug fixes to forum posts here, but he doesn't say anything about robot reports.

i am not a "bbo employee", I am a volunteer... and I have never played in a robot tournament. So I have never seen this option. Nor do I do anything remotely close to programming. I would be certain someone must see the reports, but barry (barmar) would know who, and what happens to them.

(clarification: I do some independent contract work for BBO for which I am paid, but again, not i am not an actual employee.... and everything i do in the forum and online as a BBO yellow, is as an unpaid volunteer)

Yes people on our staff look at robot reports. They are one of the primary sources we have available for deciding which areas to work on.

Note that almost all of the work we are currently doing on GIB relates to bidding. So robot reports that pertain to play or defense will be looked at and perhaps filed away for future reference, but they are not likely to result in changes in the near future.

Thanks for pointing out this feature. I play frequently in robot tournaments and occasionally suffer the slings and arrows of robot bidding without reporting these episodes to management. Knowing that this feature exists will make it easier for me to send in a report.

Most of the reports I submit are for bidding. I play mainly the non ACBL tournaments and so I can't question the declarer's play. I've completely given up on how the robots play defense and their opening leads. They are clearly male because they stubbornly refuse partner's bid suit. I enjoy being declarer against their shakey defense.
I find it amusing that a finesse is way less than a 50% chance with robot defenders.
