I lost finesses many times, but to loose one that I already won is a special kind of talent.....

"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Bizarre that GIB doesn't put the king down so against its supposed programming.

It does not (and should not) if it sees JT on the table, unless holding K9xx.

I understand that the person can play the the hands when the robot is declarer. Can you please add that function to the ACBL tournaments? To get 59% including a zero because of the way the robot played a hand is very frustrating. What happenned to 8 ever 9 never? The logic to decide to take the finesse instead of the drop is far to complex for the robots to handle.

Jane: BBO staff has said that they've made this request of ACBL, who obviously must approve conditions of contest in their online tournaments.

This has nothing to do with the original thread - please open a separate topic for this. Thread highjacking is not a usually accepted practice on BBO discussions - although I see Bradley made an exception.

No, didn't hijack your thread; I responded to a direct question asked by another player. As usual, you didn't bother to read the posts to which you made your snarly response.

Bradley - thank you for the prompt and personal response!
I think you don't get the meaning of highjack the thread - yes, you made a response to a question. A question that had nothing to do with the OP - adding a functionality to ACBL tournament is not about how badly GIB plays.....
I don't expect Jane not to post the question, I am pretty sure she did that with the best of intentions - which is exactly why I expect the people that work on this forum (i.e. YOU) to say "Jane adding functionality to ACBL is a topic for another post." and NOT discuss it here. If you want to be nice - open one for her - this way people can actually see the discussion about what Jane asked and add ideas, rather than hiding a discussion about something that other people may wonder about in a totally unrelated thread.
In the future I suggest you refrain from making personal attacks on me - being rude to users of this forum is not one of your privileges to the best of my knowledge.

You are exactly right Yu. Every post should be some reply to the original OP or in a similar vein.

Since the personel is not exactly listed, I assumed that the person who posts about GIB updates and replies to questions actually woks here.
Frankly I could not care less what exactly your position is.

So, I get lectured by you based on your assumption (you know what happens when you assume) of my position, then you say you couldn't care less about my position. Nice logic.

For future reference, personnel is, in fact, clearly listed. Under the name of each poster is his/her Group. Forum Administrators (such as Barmar) are labelled as "Admin" and Yellows (such as Diana_eva) are labelled as "Yellows". According to the BBO help file, yellows may be employees of BBO who actually work there, or they may be volunteers who have agreed to help others members; Admins are also sometimes staff and sometimes volunteers. BBO members (not staff, not volunteers) are labelled as "Members", "Full Members" and "Advanced Members", depending on their volume of participation in these forums.

I am simply an "advanced member" who tries to be helpful when I happen to know the answer to a question that someone has asked, and I can save time and/or effort by staff in responding. Similarly, when I ask a question, I'm perfectly happy when someone like StephenTu can provide the information I'm seeking, rather than waiting for a staff member to get to it.

So, if you want this member to avoid making personal attacks against you, then obviously you should do the same and not attack me, as you did in this thread.

Bradley - you started the attacks, and highjacking a thread is rude wether you are staff or not - you are experienced enough to know what it means, based on your constant posting here.
If you are not, after posting in bbo for the last 2 years - google it before you make personal remarks.
And if you are so happy to answer questions - may ne you know how I may block specific users from commenting on my posts (like the enemy button)?

It does not appear to me that you can accomplish that. That might be a good Suggestion for the Software. What you can do is:

BBO Discussion Forums Help File said:

Help Topic: Your Settings <snipped, to conserve space>
You can access your settings from any page by selecting your name at the top of the screen and then selecting "My Settings".

There are several tabs along the top, each of which reveal a number of settings pages:

Profile

Manage Ignored Users
Here you can manage your ignored users. You can choose to ignore all posts from a member, block them from sending you personal messages, or both.

To add a member to your ignored list, type their name into the "Member's Name" box. As you type, suggestions will appear below the box. When you see the name of the member you want to add, click on it. Then select either or both of the checkboxes below. Selecting "Ignore Personal Conversations" will mean they cannot send you messages and their messages in group conversations will be hidden, while "Ignore posts" will hide their posts in the forums. When you are ready, click Save Changes.

Some members, such as administrators, cannot be ignored.

I'm shutting down this thread since it has degenerated into a flamewar.

For the record, Bbradley62 has no connection to BBO except as a player who posts prolifically in this forum.
