This is a spin-off of another post:
1-(2)-Pass-(Pass)
DBL-(Pass)-2NT!-(Pass)
3

Suppose you agreed that 2NT=Lebensohl
What is 3?
Can it be a minimum hand with 2551 that wanted to DBL first in case partner had a penalty pass? Or is it always extras?

I can not agree to play this 2 NT as leb :P

It is the text book scramble bid, telling pd to bid whatever he wants and good luck. Something like Jxxx Qxx xxx xxx, Qxx xxxx Jxxx xx etc etc...

But since we are forced to play this as lebensol, i would think your pd has a superaccept if you have clubs. I mean i would think 3 is natural normally when there is no agreement, but it doesn't make sense after take out dbl, although superaccept doesn't make too much sense to me either, so this auction is *****ed up and going nowhere good imo :P

If you aren't playing lebensohl, your two sample hands are obvious 3H bids.
This is not a 'textbook' scramble bid, you can play it as that, there is also real merit in playing it as lebensohl because responder's range is very wide.

To answer the original question, I would say this is a 'contract correction' i.e. more likely to be a 5-5 than a super-accept for clubs. But this would still imply extra values, because the doubler was prepared to defend 2Sx, which a minimum 5-5 generally wouldn't be.

What 2 hands are you referring to?

Sorry, i for some reason thought opener opened with 1 NT ( due to lebensol arguments), i wrote a long reply but deleted it after i just saw we opened 1 :(

Now i see why u say we have an obvious 3 bid, i was like " Doesn't she ever DBL with 2344 2353 2335 ?" Thinking that we opened 1 NT. My example hands makes sense only if opener opened with 1 NT, obviously.

so 3 writer, three opinions. :)

I would take it as Timo or as: I forgot that we play leb, I scramble.... Usually it is the second case. :)
Kind Regards
