I achieved a new milestone tonight with this hand, sitting South.

W - E
1 - 1
1NT - 2 (NMF)
2NT - 4NT (a big overbid, I know)
6NT - Pass

Low spade to the ten and declarer's king.
Club to the ace, partner playing the queen.
Ace of hearts, heart to the king, partner showing an even number.
Low diamond from dummy.

What's your plan and why?

I have declarer as holding Kxx Ax Qxx KJxxx and thus I play the K and continue spades, then pitch diamonds on the heart(s). He can score two spades, three hearts, two diamonds and four clubs and that's it.

How will he score 4 club tricks ? Pd dropped Q , no ? I mean if declarer has the hand you predict, which i think so too unless they have some weird agreements about that bidding, then i don't even think it matters whether we duck or not this diamond, he is always down. I just can't see what the problem is....I mean even if declarer has the spade 9 (K9x) he can't safely go to dummy and duck a heart to pd to later squeeze us between clubs and spades....so idk.

If declarer has 2245 shape with dia Q he is cold anyway.

Why is he cold?
On a spade return I can see 5 major suit tricks and 6 minor suit tricks.
The spade return may, however, be essential when you decide to take your diamond trick.
Otherwise a double squeeze with spades being the common threat might develop.
This also ensures 2 down when declarer has three diamonds if you take your diamond trick immediately.

Rainer Herrmann has it right. Declarer did have 2=2=4=5 with the Q of diamonds. I went up with the K and returned the Q, destroying the common suit entry for the double squeeze. A spade is definitely the intuitive play, but this was the first time I had ever consciously broken up a squeeze at the table.

actually if you don't take your diamond inmediatelly declarer sets up hearts and wins 2 4 2 3 + another squeezing you in the minors unless partner has a miracoulous 10 to rescue you.

Assume you duck diamonds. Declarer has already played 2 rounds of hearts.
In order to set up hearts he needs to get to dummy and either expend the diamond or the spades ace setting up a second trick for the defense to cash when he gives up a heart.
