can't log in to iPad/iPhone app Connection failed

Is there a current problem with the iPad app? I've been getting the message "Connection failed" for two days (before and after installing the latest update).

There were problems yesterday. Server was down for a few hours - except for anon play. I see it's down again, we'll let techies know. Thanks for announcing it.

Edit: Seems to work again. Investigating.
