If I bid 4C instead I won't be able to stop in NT barring some very good non-standard methods available.

I wouldn't play 4C as forcing here.

Should partner bid 4♣ over 3♠?
This is a 1♦ response by my methods, even seeing that hand I'm not sure where I want to be as 6♣ is on trumps 1-1 on a diamond lead and 3N needs clubs 1-1, or diamonds 4-4, or the Kx♣ with only 3 diamonds when you make an overtrick. 5♣ is solid. MPs I prob want to be in 6♣.
If my 1N shows 4 clubs as it would with me, then if partner has the A♦, a slam cannot be horrible (it can be 1-1 and a finesse, but if I don't give much away may require a diamond lead if pard has K♣ instead) so I'd probably bid it. Something to be said for 3♠ and when partner bids 3N, bid 4♦ kickback and bid the slam opposite one key card.

2NT(at least a good 3♣ bid)-3♦(values GF)-6♣
