The player wants normal suit symbols in the bidding grid instead of smiley faces which may or may not represent "clubs".

I can't find the option to fix it. But, at least I translated the request. Can another poster help?

Actually, it looks like a copyright symbol, not a smiley face.

I believe it uses the Symbol font, which should be part of a standard Windows installation. The other thing you can do is switch to the web version. Go to www.bridgebase.com and click on "Click here to play bridge". You can also download a desktop shortcut from there.
