Obviously partner hasn't got many points, so is it worth chasing game at this vulnerability? If so how do we start?
If you bid 2D, LHO and CHO pass, RHO bids 2H, now what?
Would you bid differently if vulnerable and if so why?
FWIWwas playing GIBerish in a 3 table GIB practice session when this came up but I'm more interested in general approach.
As always, thanks in advance,
Simon

Partner doesn't have much, but there is room for Kxxx, xxxx, Qx, Axx, of course you chase game.
I know what I bid with a human partner (2♥, ♠ and another), not sure how GIB would interpret it, and I'd bid 3♦ over 2♠ to show that I'm really big and probably 5-6 or 5-7 in ♠/♦. If partner bids 2N to play in my minor, I bid 4♦ to show a big hand.

2♥, gib understands michaels and the extra strength 3♦ would show over 2♠.

If partner has xxxx xxx xxx xxx then we have (not much!) play for slam, so, yes, it is worth looking for game. In fact, I am prepared to (nearly) force to game.
I would start with 2H (Michaels). If partner bids 2S I won't bid 3D, I am too strong, I would bid 4D. I think he can, just about, pass this if he is desperate.
If partner asks for my minor, it's handy to agree what the difference is between 2NT (asking) and 3C (pass or correct). If you play 3C as natural, then of course there isn't a difference.... but if you play them both as correctable, then the most common agreement is that 2NT implies at least invitational values.

2H - showing the 2-suiter.
A 2-suiter cue in the bal. seat is not a weak action,
standard is to play the cue as a strong 2-suiter.
For game to be on, we just need a spade fit.
With kind regards
Marlowe
