Hi all,

I would like some opinions regarding the best lead on this hand. Is it a complete guess?

Matchpoints

EW are strong club players. Is the best lead in this auction an active club, a passive trump, or something in between like a red suit? How close is it? Does this change if playing IMPs? Thanks!

Normally against preempts an Ace lead is fairly safe, but the 4 opener was made r/w in 4th seat, so its usually a pretty good hand. In addition its matchpoints, so we don't have to go bananas trying to beat the hand for a good score.

I'll go safe with a low heart. A higher heart might be better.

At Matchpoints I'm certainly scared of turning 620 into 650 with a club lead.

Phil, I was with you until the conclusion. Why not lead a trump?

Might pick off Jxxx or less likely HTxx. A heart is the most passive I think.
