many boards = less random = good

25+ forum posting requirement = known players = abuse dispensed for running = no runners = no problem having a proper length tournie

I'd like to play, but I've got a team for a local Sectional that day.

No problem... all you have to do is motivate as many other people as possible to play. ;) If the event is a success a repeat is certainly possible. If only 3 pairs show up, not so much...

OK, I've created the tournament. 10x2 boards swiss format. Of course I have noted that the other formats are also popular and, if this event proves a success, will definitely consider running with 3-board rounds or without swiss. But first, let's see how the turnout is on this one. ;)

If you want to be added to the list of players allowed to register, either post here, or drop me a note on BBO. Please try to do this in advance as I don't want to be swamped by requests in the last minutes leading up to the tournament.

Apparently you can already register with the Windows client, but not with the new Flash Client. But maybe I'm missing something. Anyway the tournament is #6388 BBF Matchpoint Pairs.

Unless something has changed, registration is only possible on the web client beginning two hours before gametime.

AFAIK both players need to be on the list, so be sure to send me the name of your partner as well.

That sounds like fun, but partner isn't a BBF poster. I wonder if I can get him to post 25 times until Feb. 26 :)

I think you misunderstood. The criterium is combined post count. So, for example, if Joe Grue wants to play with Justin Lall, that is just fine, because Justin alone has enough posts to make the two of them eligible. If Joe Grue wants to play with Curtis Cheek, one of them better start posting.

Web version users cannot register earlier than 2 hours before tourney starts. Even if you don't want to be swamped with last-minute requests, you should be online as soon as the tourney is posted on web version and prepared to add people to the custom list :)

Nice initiative, thank you.

Sunday 20:00? Surely you just have to play quick in the last round? ;)

I hope you are all busy looking for partners? I haven't gotten very many requests to play yet...

Sounds like this would be fun. We have tried a few of these in the past. I would surely play, but... I will be playing in the Sarasota Florida regional on that Sunday.

I'm looking for a partner, but no regular partner of mine is available. Anyone interested in playing?
