It's not a good slam.....needs quite a few bad things to not happen. N could have investigated a heart fit..... xx KQxx AKxx Jxx makes for a great 6♥. So if the question is: should either player move in spades, I think the answer is No....Opener has a prime 14 with a good 5 card suit (tho I wouldn't upugrade to 1N because the AK clubs aren't pulling full weight, being in our short suit)and slam is still poor single dummy.
But if the question is whether either player ought at some point to have bid more aggressively, the answer is Yes...but the final contract would have been the same.

I like 3♣ or 3♥ from north but what can south do differently?

nothing much....well, he has a good hand, so maybe (if this shows that) jump to 4♠.
However, if West (who was a moron) held say x xx K10xx QJxxxx (still a pass but more of a bid than his actual foot), and you'd reached slam, I suspect this would be an ATB post And there are other layouts on which slam fails...it isn't a really bad slam...but it certainly isn't one where I would be the least bit concerned about missing it...concerned that our auction was poor, yes, but concerned that we'd missed 6♠, not in the least. So it makes....big deal...next board, please

I don't like 3♥; to me that sounds like a weaker hand with 5+ hearts. I prefer a takeout double or 3♣.
I would tend to upgrade the South hand and open 1NT; nice diamond suit and guaranteed support if partner wants to transfer/pass.

What would 2♥ show?

I like 4♣ by North.

It doesn't look that great to me. If spades are 3-1 dummy is short of entries to set up the diamonds. With spades 2-2 you probably have to guess whether to take the ruffing diamond finesse or play East for the king. Of course you can probably make seven looking at all the cards. But swap the defensive red suits around, with West having ♦K10xx, and make spades 3-1 and there is no play.
But I agree that North was very conservative in the bidding. If the king of clubs was red, it would be a great slam.

No, u cant make 7 even by looking at all hands.

I don't know if we'd get there. As Mike said, the contract would have been the same.

1d-1s
1n-4c = splinter self agreeing spades, since 3c = GF with clubs
On this auction, since its the oppos suit, its even clearer that its an auto spllinter. That will not encourage south, who will sign off immediately. I would play this hand in 4S likely.

I strongly suggest that you change this. You need a natural 2♦ here far more than you need a 2♦ art. gf...you can bid 3♣ with the gf...I suspect that you play 2 way new minor, but in that method, you get to 2♦ via 2♣, which is no longer available here

You can play XYZ anytime your side has made 3 bids at the 1-level (including double and redouble), but it obviously just doesn't work if you don't have 2♣ available. You could substitute double in this very special situation if your agreements are that detailed. You might be sad to not have a penalty double available some day, however. Dunno... it doesn't come up often.

yes - I North wants to investigate a slam, 4C it is.
But I am not sure, if it is really sensible, slam can only be good,
if opener has nearly no wastage at all.

Perhaps opener has no wastage so I'd try 4♣ with responder's great suit and likely 7 tricks. That being said, opener won't like his dub AK and we should end up stopping in game and not bidding a slam that needs a good deal of luck to make.
