I'll volunteer as captain. I think you should allow 6 person teams if only for scheduling reasons.

6 or 8 is no problem the question is do we allow teams of only 4 players ?

Score formula could be like.

(imps + 45) +10 (if you win) -----where imps is between -45 and 45.

So if you win by 5imps you get 60pts and the other team 40 (-5+45) if you win/lose by more than 45 imps its a blitz (you get 0 the other team 100)

if you win by 1 you get 56--opps 44

I also think a carryover of 10% for the final is ok. So if the winning team won the RR with 350 and the 2nd team has 320 than team 1 get a 3 imps head start.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

Uhm yes but it could also be normal (as in, VPs). I mean if you're putting money up for this you can decide obviously but this just seems weird.

For the BBO InterCity League, which runs on a fixed day and time, I need a team of four regular pairs and two singles to get close to getting a four for every match. I would not underestimate the difficulty in getting people together unless they are students or retired.

Nothing could be [unintentionally] weirder than the WBF VP scale.

I remember the BBO Poland thing ages ago. We had 6 young people and we forefit after winning like 2 matches because we couldn't get enough people on for the next match.

What about the ACBL's 30-VP scale?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Looks less weird to me, it's an otherwise sensible VP scale with a win bonus. The WBF one is just capped imps with some added randomisation.

I'm playing with BunnyGo. Can we reach out to potential teammates, or should we wait to see what this thread brings?

I'll happily captain a team (with me & Atul playing one partnership), or join someone else's ship, either way.

Team 1 Mgoetze-jschafer

Team 2 Csgibson-Atul

Team 3 benlessard-Zayats (benoitlessard@hotmail.com)
+ 2 others players from Montreal for sure.

hrothgar-Jillybean
artK78 + his partner
Inquiry+partner
Codo+ ??
Wyman + BunnyGo
Valardent + his partner
Han + Mikeh ?

As soon as we have 4 teams we can start playing some matches and if 2 other teams want to join they have like 3 weeks to do it and if we are only 4 teams then the 150$ will be easier to win :)

So we still need 1 captain. PM to the captain if you want to join a team.

As others have mentioned, I and my partner, guymath, will play. Do we wait to be assigned teammates or should I reach out to potential teammates?

Thanks.

I'd like to captain a team. I have people in mind (mostly forum posters who are irl friends) -- just waiting for responses. Did you say teams of 6 or 8?

anyone wants to play with a no-name poster? btw I am out of shape but I'd like to take it seriously.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.
