3♣ is a game force in our system. Easy 3nt bid, not so easy to go plus.

Playing any form of standard basic system (you haven't told us what we are playing), I would pass 1♠.
It's all the rage to respond very light, but the time to do that is when one or more of the following is/are true:
- you are non-vulnerable (and especially if the opponents are vulnerable)
- you have some semblance of a fit for partner
- you have a single-suiter that you can show in a weak fashion over partner's rebid (e.g. x QJ10xxxx Qxx xx)
Here you have no reason to expect that the opponents have game on, so no need to pre-empt them with 1NT; you have no reason to expect that you are making much your way.
The best that can happen if you respond is that you get to play in 2red making instead of 1 spade going off. The miracle is if partner has some strong 5=4=1=3 type hand when you miss game by passing, but you pay out to all the boring hands where you turn a small minus into a big minus, or small plus into a minus.
