If no one comes from the future to stop you from doing it then how bad a decision could it really be?

50% to both, for some reason both N and S pulled back from bidding a vul game.

I think souths first pass is fine, too many quacks but stronger action is required over the double. Either jump to 4♥ or at least cuebid on the way to 3 to transfer the blame.

I agree with the previous poster. After south's first pass his actions over the double should be more energetic, either a cuebid or a jump to game.

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the ♥3.

North's double in the pass-out seat could be made with a lot less high card strength, and tho the ♠K under opener is overvalued, the 9s and 8 are working. To make up their bid in the protective seat, isn't North "borrowing a King" or suchlike from partner's hand, making the hand look pretty good opposite a 3♥ reply? If it's IMPs, I'm not even considering passing as North.

That's where a 2♠ cue followed by 3♥ comes in, not hanging pard but should get an auto raise on this one.

I lean towards overcalling 2♥ but don't mind the pass at all, but after passing I cue bid 2♠.

This to me was poor judgement from S. Most N hands short in S should offer a reasonable play for game. Do we really want to blame N for taking the view his K of S was a wasted value and thinking "perhaps I really have less than it counts up to"? Be fair, Spades bid over you, anyone want to upgrade that Kx? Maybe N should have bid 4 because the minor values were so strong, and see S as just 2 losers, better judgement sure. I still blame S for even considering asking his partner for the next dance.
