On the poker forums I sometimes visit there is a Style Guide that is pinned. It shows new posters how to present hands for comment. It also shows how to use some software to take a hand played online, and convert it to a post.
Why don't we have this?

A sticky might help. But enabling the forums to parse a deal directly from myhands would really be the nuts. Sounds like a nontrivial programming task though.

You mean something like the rec.games.bridge style guide?
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Less of a narrative than this, but yes.

i have posted in the past a little excel spreadsheet that will do this for you (take a handviewer hand, and prepare output suitable for posting). I have a fancier one that strips players names, and allows you to rotate anyhand to south and pick which hands you want to display. Anyway, the simple one is now pinned (at least for a ltittle while) in the general bbo discussion forum. . Here is a link to the spreadsheet, which I think opens under goggle docs *you have to download it I think, don't think it works in google docs). forumlin (through tinyurl and google docs)
