IMP, 3 preemptive alerted, opponents are worldclass.

5 seems ok.

I would definitely double in case partner can bid 3N. Not hard to imagine 3N being better than 5D, and if partner bids 4H I will just bid 5D.

Depending on partner/form of scoring maybe I should be concerned they will pass the X with 3424 and not much in spades or something, but most people don't do that when they overcall and jump raise as I could easily be void. Even if it's MP and my partner likes to do it I would X because getting to 3N seems pretty important.

Dbl seems the most flexible call.

I hate dbl. Pard is more likely to leave it in than to bid 3NT with Kxx or Axx.

I'll probably end up bidding 4S.

DBL was the winning bid, we make 3 NT but 5 had no play. I bid 5 and went down, i wanted to DBL but was scared for the reasons Justin said, at the time i thought 5 has a good chance.
