1C - (1H) - 2H - (p)
2S - (3H) - 3S - (4H)
all pass.
Had I bid 3S directly (weak), I probably would have been allowed to play there for -100.
The costlier choice was my lead, I decided to lead a club.
At the other table the bidding was identical (yes, 2H showing spades is becoming popular!) but the lead was a spade followed by a spade return. Declarer tried the diamond queen, covered by the king and ace. Now declarer could have made it by cashing the spade ace (perhaps correct after 2H followed by 3S) but he decided to finesse in hearts. South won and played the spade jack, north pitching a diamond. Now the hand couldn't be made.
