Having opened this 1♣, I can now mark time with 3♠. This is 100% forcing, effectively a high reverse, and will get some needed information out of partner:
Over 3N; 4♣ (again forcing)
Over 4♣; 4♦
Over 4♥ (the bid I want to hear the least); 5♣
Over 4♠; 5N
I don't see any problems with any of these continuations.
I agree with a 1♣ opening playing SAYC or 2/1, although Precision or other systems with limited openings make hands like this much easier.

1) I open 2♦ - mulit 2♦ which shows weak two in major, huge balanced hand, or 9+ trickss iwth a great minor suit.
2) I rebid 3♠ with is forcing, although I think 3NT might be a winner at imps.

what is 3D? weak i presume
i think there's a slam here, especially given no overcall of 1C (if standard system opening 1C) and a weak jump overcall... i'd bid 3S to start, just to see what happens... i like phil's 5N if pard bids 4S, but i'd really be tempted to bid 6C if he bid 4H (and hope he doesn't bid 6S unless suitable)

Well if I knew pard had two of: 9♣, the A♥ or the Q♠, I would bid 6♣ over 4♥ too. However, note that even if he has all three of these cards, 6♣ isn't cold. And if he only has 1 of these, then 6♣ doesn't have any play at all.

Ok, I bid 3S as you all suggested. Then pd bid 4H. What now? More questions coming...

I´d open 1♣ clearly, there is no way I can imagine this will be passed out, , so no need to preempt ourselves.
If partner bids 4♥ I agree with Phil, 5♣ looks a decent contract.
