It seems there is a maximum length for handviewer data in the forum. For instance, I used the following code:

hv=sn=mgoetze&s=SAQJ6HAK4D95CAQ85&wn=Robot&w=S7HQJT762DKT32CKJ&nn=Robot&n=ST5432H3DAQJ8CT72&en=Robot&e=SK98H985D764C9643&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=P2N%28Two%20NT%20opener.%20Could%20have%205M.%20--%202-5%20C%3B%29P3H!%28Jacoby%20transfer%20--%205+%20S%29P4D%28Superaccept%3B%20doubleton%3B%20support%20--%202-5%20C%29P4N%28Blackwood%20[S]%20--%205+%20S%3B%2010+%20total%20points%29P5C%28Zero%20or%20three%20key%20cards%20--%202-5%20C%3B%202%20D%3B%202%29P5D%28%3F%20queen%20--%205+%20S%3B%2010+%20total%20points%29P5H%28Queen%20%26%20king%20--%202-5%20C%3B%202%20D%3B%202-5%20H%3B%204-5%20S%29P6S%28Signoff%20--%205+%20S%3B%2010+%20total%20points%29PPP&p=D4D9DKDASTS9S6S7S2S8SAH7HAH2H3H5HKH6C2H8H4HTS4H9S5SKSJD2C3CQCKC7D3DQD6D5CTC4CACJC5DTS3C9DJD7C8HJD8C6SQHQ

and it got cut off after 4NT and didn't show the play. When I shortened it to

hv=sn=mgoetze&s=SAQJ6HAK4D95CAQ85&wn=Robot&w=S7HQJT762DKT32CKJ&nn=Robot&n=ST5432H3DAQJ8CT72&en=Robot&e=SK98H985D764C9643&d=e&v=e&b=6&a=P2N(Two NT opener.)P3H!(Jacoby transfer)P4D(Superaccept; doubleton)P4N(Blackwood)P5C(Zero or three)P5D(queen ask)P5HP6SPPP&p=D4D9DKDASTS9S6S7S2S8SAH7HAH2H3H5HKH6C2H8H4HTS4H9S5SKSJD2C3CQCKC7D3DQD6D5CTC4CACJC5DTS3C9DJD7C8HJD8C6SQHQ

everything could be seen. This is rather unfortunate as it makes it tedious to copy&paste longer robot auctions into the forum.

Seems it can handle longer input in LIN format though, strange.

I see from your second post you have figured out that the lin file format works with quite long things, even the example you included... and we can add all this text to it too.

I did post an excel file in a public google document that helps automate getting hands from myhands to a format to post in the forum. That forum post with instructions and download info is: [url="http://www.bridgebase.com/forums/topic/45362-excel-tool-for-lin-file-posting/page__p__540343__hl__%2Bexcel+%2Bhandviewer__fromsearch__1#entry540343"]Excel tool for posting "myhands" in the forum[/url]

The size issue is another reason (one of many) to choose the lin file format to post hands :)

Sorry, I couldn't parse this sentence. My first example works fine as a handviewer link, i.e. this. So it seems to be purely a forum limitation.

I'm not even going via myhands nowadays, right in the BBO software I click "Export deal -> Handviewer link" and copy & paste the URL. If it's not planned to support this format on the forum, maybe the "Export deal" menu could have a LIN format option suitable for pasting into the forums?
