Personally I prefer some number of Clubs to 3♠ . (good job downvotes are disabled)
Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mstr-mnding) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

But if we are going to contrast IMP and MP bidding, i would definetely go for 4♠ in imps as oppose to Adam's choice and bid 3♠ in mp. I am expecting a 3♠ bid from majority of the field, but looking at replies here, i may be a bit off on this expectation.

The problem with 4♠ is that LHO will be forced to double on a lot of different hands. RHO will always sit.

And if you're really twisted, 3NT + pull a red bid to spades and hopefully show blacks in the process.

Right. How else would you show a black 2 suiter after all?

Partner may raise with a spade fit, I don't bid over 2NT without good shape.

I'd bid 3S at any scoring, who has complicated agreements over 2NT interference anyway?

What do you bid now? What is your plan?
As for planning, you have to think about what you will do if your opponents double you, and what you will do if they bid 4heart(or stops in 3nt).
Here are some different plans:
Plan A: Bid 3 spades.
- When opponents double you might bid clubs or pass.
-When opponents bid 4 hearts you might bid again(Am I crazy, or would bidding 4spades from you show a second suit, since you did not bid 4spades immideatly with a one suited hand?, ie: 2nt-3sp-4h-pass;-pass-4spades=spades and a second suit?)
Plan B: Bid 4 spades: This one seems simple, now you have decided and are usually finnished bidding on this hand. If the opponents double you, you sit. If they bid more you pass.
Plan C: Bid 3 clubs. If opponents double, bid 3 spades. If opponents have bid 4hearts next time, bid 4spades. The downside of this plan are clear: You give the opponents more room, and you might get a club lead from partner if he ends up on lead. The upside is that you can stop as cheaply as possible in 4spades or 5 clubs in your best fit.
Plan D: Bid 4 clubs and then later 4 spades. Same up and downsides as plan C, but more preemptive.
Plan E: Bid 3nt, and later 4spades if somebody bids a red suit..
Plan F: Pass. Not an option for me.
I am still not convinced what is the best plan is. Comments would be appreciated.
