T1: ♣ A, 5, ?
Am I playing the queen so that he can underlead (but what if he's got Ax), the 7 to encourage (but what if he continues with the K? What's my card at T2?), or the 2 to discourage (and risk the club trick going away on, say, AQxxx of diamonds)?
I think the reason that was not replied was due to your questions.
Letme explain why;
-You are worried what if pd started with an unprotected Ace. If thats the case u already blew your thiny chance of defeating this contract. Unless pd also has AQ of
♥ and we are scoring 3 more
♥ tricks, which makes playing
♣ Q still helpful for pd, he will know we dont have the K.
- Considering opener did not even make a game try, he must have a lot of HCPS or decent shape. That reduces our chance to defeat even if pd has
♣A,
♦A,
♠ QT9..
So i dont think you shd worry about pd starting with an unprotected Ace.
Now for your 2nd concern, which made you worried about declarer holding AQxxx
♦ and
♣ will be discarded from dummy...
- That makes declarer holding 5+
♠+5
♦ and in order to think our cashing 2nd
♣ is relevant we end up with these shapes, 5152 or 5053 6052. Which means u are worrying too much and what u signal is still irrelevant
EDITED for a typo,
♠ instead of
♥
