The method is definitely catching on, but I don't think it is a majority approach. 5-card majors, on the other hand, has enjoyed a huge surge in popularity and is now the overwhelming choice among English experts.

That's an interesting thought, to only bid 2/1 on invitational hands with a doubleton (or better) spade.


1-2-2 is not forcing, so responder can pass.
