This seems like a huge WTP 1nt. We have 16 in the middle of our range, we have a semi-balanced shape without a 5 card major, our 2 doubletons aren't weak. It is quite possible that we'd rather the lead come around to partner in 3nt, but that is such a minor concern compared to describing our hand properly.

1D - but 1NT is ok as well.

In the end this is more a style thing, than anything else.
If you play "strong" reverses, than the hand is min for a reverse,
and this would be a reason to open 1NT.

The only reason not to open 1NT is if this hand is not in your range.

I'm ok with 1NT or 1 followed by a reverse.

I find this hand really to weak for a reverse... but I guess it depends on partnership methods....

More than half my values are in my short suits. I strongly prefer 1NT.

Opening 1 has many rebidding problems imo: we don't have a good suit to rebid 2, we are quite weak and have poor honour location for a light reverse, and 1NT is quite an underbid.

Pretty easy 1NT for me. I don't have the world's highest standards for a reverse, but this ain't one. And if not 2, I'm out of possible rebids after 1-1, so...

Here is another voice to speak for those of us who open 1. Though few in number, we are hearty in spirit and strong in conviction.

If partner responds 1, my plan is to rebid 2. To suggest a hand for partner in support of 1, I offer Axxx x K10xx Kxxx. To justify their superior numbers, I humbly challenge the crowd of 1NT openers to produce at least three hands for partner where the 1NT opening bid will win. GO!

When my partner shows a GF 4=1=4=4, I'll definitely bid 4 and slam bidding can start. I'm not saying we'll reach slam, but the chances exist.

On the other hand, after opening 1 and reversing, partner won't like his singleton and might just signoff in 3NT...

Agree with Free. For the stated reasons. 1N = 10, 1 = 6.
