Over 4NT, partner bids 5D (1), 6C or 6NT?
Tough one, there's just a faint chance that if you play 6
♣, partner has xx, AQJx, x, Qxxxxx or similar and you have 12 in NT but lose the first 2 in clubs.
There is also a reasonable chance that you just don't have the tricks in NT and a ruff in clubs helps you home, x, AJxx, Qxx, QJxxx where you need 3 but not 4 heart tricks playing in clubs or it's laydown if J
♥ is the Q, you don't need the 4th one.
I'd be inclined to bid 5
♠ here over 5
♦ to highlight the issue, not sure what else it can be asking for at IMPS other than the spade position as I can't be unilaterally investigating a grand, partner with one of the top 3 (the other holding I might do this on is AQ tight) or a singleton should bid 6
♣, with xx should bid 6N.
I can hardly be wishing to sign off in 5N with the 5
♠ bid, but if partner does bid 5N I'll bid 6
♣ now and hopefully he'll get the message second time.
