IMPS, 28 board league match converted to VPs

So, what's the plan? If it matters, it's the second half, you were down 22 to a better team, and nothing particularly good or bad has happened this half.

3 seems fair. The alternative is a revolting 3NT overcall or a somewhat risky pass.

3NT, our suits are behind their suits.

Hate 3 or pass, we're way too strong, hate X, we're way too likely for partner to insist on hearts, gonna put it in the most likely stopping place right now. Downside is we might miss a minor suit slam when partner's the one with our missing minor suit honors.

(Edit: Geez, now that I think about it, x, xxxxx, Qxx, Jxxx isn't the world's worst club slam. 3 for the minors might not be awful here too, though I'd prefer a 5th diamond)
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

This is where I would reach down under the table, and pull out my rabid pet cat, Josef.

Then I would turn to RHO and say, "Good sir, if you stick with that bid, you're going home with Josef . . . ." (Rrriaow . . . . RRRRIIIIIAAAAOOORRRRWWWW!!!!!!! . . . . Hhhiiiissssssssssssss)

"I am kindly giving you a chance to reconsider. Now, are you sure you want to make that bid?"

I think the best call in a swing situation like this is 4, active interest in slam with both minors. [4NT would be both minors, taking a shot at eleven tricks.] Presumably our teammates at the other table (who also know the situation) will blast 3 at these colors, and the opponents will just give up and bid 3NT. I wouldn't be shocked to win 16 when 6m makes and 3NT doesn't. And on a nice day when pard holds

we can have an intelligent auction to 7 and are now down only 3 IMPs when the teammates take the first five heart tricks against 3NT at the other table.

OK, my serious answer:

Double, planning to pull partner's 3 to 4, or if partner jumps to 4, pull to 5. If partner bids 3 then, over my 4, rebids 4, I'll try 4NT, to suggest a hand that is suitable for play in clubs, diamonds, or NT. If partner presses in hearts to the five or six level, I will crawl under the table, and hope to somehow magically morph into a cat.

The only good thing about 3C and double is that they are unlikely to be chosen by the better team!

I'd bid 3NT. I have quite a bit of sympathy for pass but the colors are wrong and the spade 7 is too low.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
