cash AK, ir RHO has Q or J stiff you have 9 sure tricks playing a club now. If nothing happens you have to guess wich entry minor entry LHO has.

In fact, assuming both follow, you will have a pretty good guess about who has the remaining club. Whoever didn't play an honor is a 2:1-favorite to have the remaining club.

(And, of course, if you guess right, you make; if you guess wrong in clubs you still have the 50-50 chance of the A being in the correct hand.)

This. But i will add that exactly 5-2 is the problematic layout, and taking into account vacant spaces odds changes to something like 4:3.

openning bid 3N with such a strong hand is not popular today.nowdays 3N openning bid show AKQXXXX solid 7 cards in one minor and without any A/K in other suits or hv no more than one K.
To play 3N contract for 8 tricks in pocket,how to develop one more trick?
first:second round play to force out A.
second:try cash one big honor and watch what happened and decide to play next
third:if any above tries unsuccessful u may hv an opportunite to endplay

Douh. Get life. This hand was posted as a play problem in other forum without mentioning bidding. I'm not even sure if this hand was ever really played in real life.

And cherdano already gave the right answer.
