A72
AQ2
K862

1NT-2
2-2
???

How often do you scramble with 5-4/4-5 in the Majors?

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

Just make an agreement. Don't scramble with both 5=4 and 4=5.

With a weak 4s/5h, Responder just transfers to and forgets about Spades.

With a weak 4/4 or 5s/4h, Responder bids Stayman.
Then after:
1NT - 2C
2D - 2H
??
The "rules" are:
Opener bids 2S with equal length ( 3/3 ) or longer ( 3s/2h );
... OR passes with 2s/3h

On this hand, Opener bids 2S.

We always bid 2S with equal length so that opener can be declarer as often as possible. This means that we often transfer with 4-5 in the majors.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Same here. With 5-4 we transfer, with 5-4 we start with stayman. It's a simple agreement and it's good enough most of the time.

Actually, I do have an agreement to always scramble with a 54/45. Pard made me do it lol. Had to mess up the whole system, though.

I once saw on vugraph Zia-Hamman scrambling with 5-4 and opener passing with 2-2 so they played in a 2-4 fit. To be fair it was in the very early days of their partnership.

2 sd be passed since 2 no forcing just show 4/5 with no more than inv hcp.
IF bid 3/ that's smolen with 45/45 GF.
IF with inv hand 54 majors bid 2N again if pd accept inv to a game wd bid 3cards major when u hv 5 raise to 4M or bid 3N.
IF with inv- hand just bid 5 cards major pd sd pass it.

The other reason for scrambling with equal shape is allow a garbage with 3415/3406- if opener pass 2H hes got 2S+3H and 2H will play well enough with 3/3 or 3/2 he will bid 2S and you have a 2nd shot at 3C.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."
