3C was a strong jump shift. 4NT is 0314 RKCB

What say you here?

5. Since partner has bid , my void there is not likely to be all that useful, so I'd not show it even if I've agreed methods to show a useful void. BTW, are trumps. B-)

I would not show my void even if I had a way to show it.

But I would like to respond 6 Ace RKCB, since I have a known 2-suiter. I would show 4 key cards with the kings of both clubs and diamonds counting as key cards.

Well, if you want to show your void;

4NT---6x (x < our trump) = x suit void and odd number of keycards
4NT---6 of our trump = odd number of keycards + a suit above trump is void
4NT---5NT = even number of keycards + a void.

So in this hand IF you want to show a void , you bid 6. But as they said, that will hardly matter because if pd knows what he is doing, he should have A and A in order to ask 4NT. He definetely has control too, K or stiff. What matters will be Q for him if he wants to go grand, i would just respond keycards if i were you.

What an aweful 3 bid! Bleh!

Now I wouldn't show my void, partner has values there so the void isn't "useful" imo.

3KC: 5. That is what you agreed with partner.....
But I think, playing SAYC, 3 is wrong. I would have splintered: 3: partnership can now start a serie of control bidding, or whatever you agreed on a splinter.

1st point - if I'm not going to jump shift on these cards, with good 5 card support for partner, a side suit with a source of tricks and first round controls in all other suits, when are you going to jump shift?

2nd point

This was partner's hand. We had a misunderstanding in bidding the grand, but bid it anyway. How would you bid it?

something that would work is 1-2-3-5NT (GSF) however this would miss some good grands if partner has AJxxx

Those who play exclusion will have a comfortable 1-2-3-5 bidding

Now if you need to start with clubs it would go like this:

1-2
2-3
3NT-4

continuations depend on agreements.
