So at all white imps we had the auction 1C (1H) P P 1S
and the question we're asking is whether a pass by overcaller would deny a 5-cd diamond suit.
There's obviously some danger that responder is trapping for hearts.
What sort of hand could overcaller have with five diamonds and still pass?

A hand that's too weak to bid.
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Revolutionary, I think you may be on to something Andy.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

I have a hard time imagening a 5-5 hand that would bid 1♥ but not 2♦.
Using my imagination hard:
♠ Qx
♥ KJ9xx
♦ xxxxx
♣ A

We should always assume 2/1 unless otherwise stated, because:
- If the original poster didn't bother to state his system, that means that he thinks it's obvious what he's playing. The only people who think this are 2/1 players.
