Pass.

2♠ is my 2nd choice. I am not really sure whats good for us and there is still partner at the table. If hand belongs to us i am hoping we can still recover from my pass. I know we want ♣ lead if LHO blasts 3 NT, but we dunno that yet and i wont bid a genius 3 level just to show lead over a weak 2. If it comes back to me as 3♦ from my left, DBL and correct 3♥ to 3♠.

In the style I'm accustomed to, there's a huge onus on the person short in the preempt suit to get our side in the auction, so I've got a little too much to pass.

I'll bite. 2S. Partner probably won't be on lead anyway, or perhaps I can switch to clubs in time. But the hand more likely belongs to us in spades, and any honors partner has are apt to be over LHO.

If I bid on this hand, what should I do on a stonger hand: like 5♠ from the king.
No, in the intrest of the partnership: pass. I trust partner to come up with something....if he has some values.

2♠, it seems safer for me to do this than for partner to find a bid when he has some diamond length.
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

I'd have overcalled 2♠, I have shortness, and am not happy with defending 2♦. I doubt I'll be thrilled with any of the results, but I think it's the least of evils. I'm a big believer in the hand with shortness acting.
