Probably going to go to Louisville for a few days as it's only a 3 hr drive for me. It will be my first NABC event. How easy is it to find pickup partners for the events?

Also, what should I expect/do to make my time there go smoothly?

It is very easy to find pickup partners at the NABC. You will probably find 2 partnership desks, 0-300 and 300+ and many people looking for partners.

I think I have seen from other forum posts and your name that you are in Ohio. I too live in Ohio (Columbus) and plan to go to the Louisville NABC. Based on the 3 hour drive time, you may be near me.

What dates are you planning to in Louisville? I have a partner who is flying in on March 14, but I may go down on March 12 or 13. If your schedule is similar to mine, perhaps we could get a game together.

I live in Dayton Ohio, I'm planning on heading down on Thursday the 11th and probably coming back on the 15th. Send me a PM if you'd like to play. I only have 75ish points, but I've been told I play much better than that. I play standard, or 2/1, and learning precision.

Thanks

Darin

It is very easy to get partners at the partnership desk, though the standard is mixed, of course. It's even better to go through an informal network, telling people that you know that you need partners, and if they hear of any other people that they think would work well, to hook you up.

I can help by putting a lobby news up for you. Not really sure what else you'd need to know to form a compatible partnership. Perhaps everyone interested can post their skill level, preferred system, what dates they want to attend, and what events they are looking to join. Also whether looking for roomies?
