Rockwell The bid

I was just looking at that picture created by Norman Rockwell in 1948 called "Bridge Game - The Bid".
Seems to me that it was mis-named. It should have been called "Bridge Game - The Claim".

If it were a claim then someone would have their arm in the air calling the director, or diving for the telephone to call bluejak.
