I very often volunteer to be a sub (option ANY Tournament). Two experiences:

FIRST - The request for a sub are very agressive. Want to replace? : partner unknown... Or when you answer NO, the system immediately asks the same question, for the same tournament, with the same partner...

SECOND - while the sub-system is very good for the regular tournaments (and I think the system was ment for them), I have the impression that subs are misused by member who start a Game of 4, without real engagement to play all boards.

My proposal is to make the sub system a little less agressive - it is not because I am a sub, I want to play anything or with anybody, and secondly to NOT allow a simple match of four use the subs.

if you say no twice, you get bumped from the sub list, but can always join again.

if this bothers you, the next best thing is

DO NOT ANSWER

when you take a long time to answer, you will see that someone else grabs the spot and you remain on the sub list.

Babalu just wanted a shoulder to cry on, is that too much to ask for?

Has anyone experienced being substituted into a teamgame not as an actual sub but to fill a seat from the actual start and had to wait for the table to fill up? BBO needs to do a separate volunteer for a team game along similar lines as the volunteer to sub in any tournament.

Yes, that is what I meant.....
It would be a good idea to seperate a simple team of 4 games and real tournaments. It could be set as an option when subscribing to "Substitutes".

Another idea:
When invited to sub: put up the Profile of the partner.....I am sure that under those conditions a lot more would volunteer....
