1 (P) 1 (P)
2 (X) P* (2)
2N (P) 3 (P)
P (3) 3 P

Here's an auction on BBO, the double of 2 was very odd but this is how it happened.

2/1 is a reverse, 1rf
P* since 2/1 is 1rf should this pass show a willingness to
play 2x?
Are we, the opening bidder, in a gf situation at any stage in this auction?

2dx isn't game, so if we were willing to play in something that wasn't game, I don't think that the 3D bid was forcing.

The only call that might make this a GF is 2NT. However, we pass partner's next call, so I guess we think it doesn't create a GF. ;)

I've never seen a reverse bid doubled. Very strange.

You are in a force through 3, so the pass is forcing, but not GF. If responder wanted to claim ownership, he could have redoubled with diamonds, which (s)he had shown later. 3 is pretty weird, since we didn't bid 2 the first time.

You aren't in a GF. Question answered.

Hi,

#1 passing 2Dx showes interest in playing 2Dx, it is weaker than XX, which would generate a gf
#2 3S is certainly now generating a gf, 3H is just ..., the opponents have the majority, they
are willing to play a partial, no real good fit gurateed wonderful
#3 I dont think 3D is already forcing to game

With kind regards

Here's the full hand, a disaster. Appears that I had to XX

opener has a tough hand. I would open 1nt(first choice) or 1d planning on rebidding 2c after your 1s response.

I would never reverse.

Yup, 1NT-2-2-3NT.

I would never open this hand 1 unless it is systematically allowed (e.g. in Polish Club). Open 1 and rebid 2 is the alternative.

This auction is odd enough for anyone to wonder about the significance of different responses/rebids, particularily those in the Beginner/Intermeidate forum skill levels. For someone to suggest that an adminstator, or someone esle would lock the thread is not appropriate. I am an adminstrator, and of course I choose not to lock this thread.

You shouldn't redouble but make whatever is a forcing raise in your method. (If you don't play Ingberman I would rather bid 4D than pass or XX or bid 3D risking a pass by partner.)

I don't think we have a method to make a forcing raise of openers 2nd suit other than perhaps 4sf then showing support. I doubt that I will ever be able to show 5 card support here.
4 sounds weak, what would an Ingberman auction look like here?

If you play Ingberman, then 2H contains all weak hands and 3D is forcing.
4D is never weak in such a strong auction, it is always forcing, showing a good hand with distribution. You don't start preemptive jumps in the second round of the auction.
