East deals and opens 1. What is your auction, and do you want to be in slam?
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

nonexpert here but I would give up and only get to 4h.

2h overcall...3h
4c=4d
4h=p
----
or

may get to 5h

2h=3h
4c=4d
4s(rkc)=5c(1-4)
5d(Qask)-5h

2 is obvious the way I play, after that north can bid 2 or 4, 2 might make us play slam.

I would like to play this slam, prettu good on a non diamond lead

Our auction would pinpoint lead :( so we don't want to be in a slam * :(
(1)
2 - 2N -
3 - 3N -
4 AP
2 = Intermediate.
2N = Pudding raise to 3 or more.
3 = Asking/Trial bid.
3N = Game values. One of the six KC (red kings are KCs).

* On reflection, and having read subsequent posts, we would like to be in a slam :)
but we couldn't get there :(

yes i want to be there.

1S
2H 2S
4C 4D
6H.

looking at my hand, i want to hear partner has A of diamonds.

I dont need much of anything for this hand to work after LHO leads a spade. Even with a diamond lead lead J of trump and if RHO ducks i tank for 45 minutes before playing the A dropping stiff Q offside. now unblock spade and take the marked ruffing finesse and pray RHO has 3 clubs

I think I wouldn't reach slam, even if I wanted to. Definitely 2 overcall, after which reaching game is easy.

Highly doubt I'd get there but I'd want to be there for sure.

After (1) 2 2NT, showing a good 4-card raise, I'd probably just bid 4 without thinking about it. However, it's probably right to explore - xxx Kxxx Axx Qxx is barely worth 2NT but makes an excellent slam. Maybe:
(1)
2 2NT
3 4
4 5
5 6
or more likely
...   5 (dbl)
pass 6
I think it's hard to avoid a sequence where RHO can double a diamond cue-bid
... that would still not be conclusive proof, before someone wants to explain that to me as well as if I was a 5 year-old. - gwnn

Me too.

(1) - 2
2* - 3
3NT - 4
4 (x) - Pass
4 - Pass

*I play 2NT as natural, so 2S includes all heart raises.
