Heh, thats a 9-4 hand. I wouldn't blame anyone from passing (walking the dog) to 7 bid. Those extreme freak hands don't getalone with logic very often.

1 seems like a good start, we'll judge how high to go later. I'd pass this, but getting the suit in there early really is not a bad idea. This also encourages partner to show values in some way which will help our decision.

1, and as the auction goes, 4, planning on competing to 6 if necessary, but not 7

who knows how to bid freaks?

we are unlikely to sell out below 6, but we'd like to know how good a spot it is, and maybe even find the grand....but, equally, we'd like to get doubled somewhere.

1, double or even pass could work.

I couldn't bring myself to pass, and double isn't likely to help much. 4 isn't enough, 6 too much right now...so 1 it is.

Over 4, again we don't yet know what's going on, so I just bid 4.

If they double, I think I redouble.... it takes a brave opp to double and then run :)

I bid 4 now. The poor opponents seem to be in a forcing pass now, which is a GREAT thing for us. I'm bidding up to 6 if necessary I think, but not past that.

Haha I know this one. My pard bid 6. Turned out my 109x was more valuable than my A :)

I said, if you walk it a little slower, you're going to get x'd.

I started with x, then bid 4S over 4H, LHO bid 5H and RHO thought before passing, so I bid 5S, then 6H by RHO 6S by me and a double, I got a useless heart lead, making 6, but what a wild hand.

Sounds like the 1H I was thinking of is going to get me some number of spades rewound. Whether it's more than 6Sx (or even 6S=) I don't know.

If RHO opened 1S, I would pass for now and decide later what to do.
I really don't think the bidding is going to get passed out as someone has distributional values to find a bid.
Partner is never going to believe I have this hand so the best I can do for the moment is listen and see what the opponents and partner can volunteer.

1 and then 5 for me. I know partner will never be able to judge, but I can't judge either.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Bidding 6S is the odds on call when RHO opened 1S?

RHO opened 1C.

Passing seems stupid, one of those juvenile, ZOMG I PASSED 1C AND THEN BID SPADES LATER, THEY'LL THINK I'M WEAK AND NEVER FIGURE IT OUT! Overcalling 1S is a much more legitimate start to slowplaying while also gathering information to make your final decision.

After 1S I agree with bidding 4S.
