The big news- multi international squad paid to play for Monaco. Simple question good or bad for bridge ?

For those that like to see a maximum number of the really best players playing, it is good. And also good for the players concerned no doubt.

Bad for the players who usually represent Monaco.

Buratti&Lanzarotti represented Spain once and got second place in European championship later, but note that they were just 15 IMP away from not qualifying as the country team, there is still work to do.

Well I would have preferred Fantunes for Italy and Helgeness for Norway, but since we can't have that it's nice that they will play. They are among my favorite pairs to watch.
