Teams game (imps)

What do you bid?

Is slam still a (remote) possibility?

If not, what bid/bidding plan is best?

Tx for thoughts

I start with double. Just showing extra values. I'll see what partner does, if partner bids 3C or 3D, then slam is still a possibility, but over most other bids I would get out in game.

Double. Any # of NT is premature.

hate double - you try getting partner to play in anything other than 4 now.

i'd bid 3 - ok it's normally a 5 card suit but we've got half the deck to compensate.

Slam is obviously a possibility. Partner needs about a 10-count and a fit. Any two Aces, the diamond Queen, and either minor fit.

Finding it is the trick.

DBL or 3 . DBL is better imo.

My bid was dbl at the table.

Part bid 4 (Comments on partner bids are wlc, he thinks dbl should show tolerance : Hx)

What game would you rather have been in : 3NT, 4 or 5?

Those were the N/S hands : (I'll post E/W in a day or two)

I would have bid 3NT, but that is rushing things, so double is better. 4 is a great contract, I'd prefer partner to double with that hand instead of bidding 2, though.

These were the 4 hands :

Imps

I calculated (N/S hands) 4is about 65% while 3NT and 5 are about 50%.

Of course, as the cards layed, 3NT and 5 win, and 4 is down :( .
