I agree with 2, but given the pass, I think 2NT (2 places to play) may be an interesting alternative to balance with.

I'd expect 2NT-3-3 to show 5-5 in the reds. The normal way to show four hearts and longer diamonds is to double and then convert clubs to diamonds.
