Today we had a very interesting hand come up. The "interestingness" was not at my table though. My teammate held:

IMPs at Swiss Teams (7 Boards a match), do you agree with his double of 6? Should it be "leader-lightner"?

Next, what would you lead from this hand, and what diamond seems most likely to convince partner that you are ruffing a club return?

I never heard of leader-lightner before.

I guess 2 its the card for clubs and J for hearts, it should work if declarer has singleton because partner "Knows" something is going on, however if declarer has doubleton partner will have to guess something probably.

In addition, should 3rd/5th vs 4th matter here?

No, partner doesn't need our diamond count for anything. He can be rather certain we have 5 of them. (Could have 6 but it would be quite a risky double)
Partner just have to figure out there is something fishy with this double, and our card is lavinthal for fishyness.

I expected 3rd/5th, because it helps partner when declarer has singleton, partner will know we have 5 and didn't lead from a honnor from QJ10xx.

What partner expects opponents not to have a diamond void? Surely a heart lead to have any chance. Foolish double as he is on lead.

If you're set on a heart lead, the "return-directing" double is fine.

If you are considering somthing else for the lead; PASS!!! Don't take away partners chance to help you on the lead.

This would be my choice also. Hopefully this is a smoke alarm to partner.
