It occurs to me that sooner or later especially as BBO is a free site that pranksters will decide it is fun to sign up and sit at a table just to disrupt play [by stupid bids or even not biding] just 'for a laugh'.
I wonder is any plan in place to overcome this possible scenario, a couple of solutions come to mind:firstly, that registration is not free, maybe a one of fee or even an annual fee: secondly, that registration requires an email address to which is sent a password so that miscreants could be traced and banned.
At the moment presumably the most the site could do is ban a nickname, delaying the prankster by a couple of minutes whilst he/she opens a new account and resumes their fun.

And I suppose you are one of the pranksters trying to get ahead of the game by asking what measures are in place?

BTW, not just anyone can sit at my tables...

I'm happy that the BBO team worries about it, as I know they do.

I'll stick to trying not to appear such a person when I play!

I don't work for BBO and any advice is based on my BBO experience over the decades

1. Well bbo allows you many restrictions at playing tables, use them when you are host- exclude new members, exclude poor completion rates.

2. Sometimes the trolls get in. One time, partner and I won 2 boards. That was too much for him so the guy opens 1nt and later bids 4 spades, such bidding of course throws away the defense. Next hand, he opens a strong 2 clubs, i field the psyche, I told my partner, boot this player, but my partner is mother theresa and decides to to ask the guy why he is bidding like that. Next time the guy opens 6nt. I say theresa, not one bid for me till the feller leaves, and i think you should do the honours. Guy says he enjoys the game but not the opps, he was gone, I suppose to use that find a game button again.

3. But, i much prefer it when i am host. i ain't got no mercy, off with their heads, immediate enemy list.

But the best thing since sliced bread is those categories, i have enemies, and friends in all colours of the rainbow. And, added advantage, bbo has not control on the list.

Only problem I still have to solve is the guy with 200 names and multiple computers, he befirends me and then reveals himself, so the enemy process keeps happening all over again.

Babalu just wanted a shoulder to cry on, is that too much to ask for?
