A bit of confusion as to what East's next move should be in this sequence. (Both pairs playing 2/1)

What are your thoughts and why?

Is this a clear choice  or up for partnership discussion?

Partner made a takeout double, pass is for penalties, so 3.

Well since you ask, the old forums allowed large text, colored text, etc too, I am wondering why are so many people are using it now!
That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.

This is going to end badly for sure. Partner better have a mighty good reason to have stuck his oar in at his 3rd chance.

Only question now is whether we bid 2NT to keep clubs in the picture or 3D to pick. If partner waited to double because he had only the red suits, doesn't much matter.

imo this is up for agreement. With some I play that pass shows no preference, with some I play pass is a suggestion to play. With some I play both, depending on the level.

In either case, though, 3d must be right.

3 is clear imo.
Partner didn't double 1NT (t/o of , so he's not prepared to play there. 2NT should show clubs and tolerance for one or both red suits here.
Kind regards,
Harald

3 for sure. Passing is a suggestion to play, and I certainly hope partner can explain why he didn't bid the first two times.

3. I would want better clubs to suggest playing there with 2N.

I don't think partner cares for clubs, or he would have doubled right after 1NT. 3 seems quite clear. I would want to have longer and stronger clubs to bid 2NT here.

FWIW, I think pass here would be penalty, showing a hand that would have passed partner's double, had RHO not rewinded.

This public poll thing is kind of cool. Hate the 'delete vote' option though - stand up and vote (or do not vote).

I am fairly new, so just curious: what is new on the public poll in this new forum, compared with the poll in old forum?

I was wondering why the hell the suit fonts are so small that I can't tell the difference between a and a . They didn't even use different colors.

Anyway after rethinking the bidding and correcting(in my mind) opener's 1 call to 1 I would call 3 leaving the opps to guess what to do at the 3 level
