There was a recent thread recently about this situation but I still have some questions. We're playing an artificial 1D=10-15, bal or 3-suited any shortness or minors or 4M/6D.

Meckwell and others play transfers here.

1D (2C)
.....dbl-negative (or Stayman?)
.....2D-Hs
.....2H-Ss

What should the transfer promise in terms of points and suit? Assume vul for now.
Opener has to be able to accept the transfer with a stiff (I think) or if not has to be assured of some number of hcps for 2N. Also, it seems like opener has to be able to raise at least sometimes.

8+ points and 5+ cards but of course most 8 counts with 5 card suits don't qualify.
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

That strikes me as a good answer.

We'd talked about making 1D (2C) continuations the same as for our 1N (2C) continuations...basically "system on" treating the 1D (which may be unbalanced) as an 11-13 NT. It wouldn't be optimized, but it would have the advantage of being easy to remember.

1D (2C)
.....dbl-
..........2D-no 4-cd major
...............2H-4S/4+H
...............2S-5S/4H

etc.
