If you bid 4H, what sort of hand do you bid 3NT with?
And what does 3S mean?

simple soul, here. 4. Would have to have an original l.r. to bid 3.

3NT would not have more than one heart, but would have a good ten+

I bid 4, I want a better stopper in 's before I consider 3N

3 for me would be a cue in support of 's

4 and don't think it's close, 3NT is hogging the hand from partner, who might have tried something else with a more balanced hand and who has all the points. 3NT almost always shows a stiff here.

I might play 3 as 2-way, either asking for a spade stopper for 3NT or as a cue-to-be for hearts over partner's 3NT
I once yelled at my partner for discarding the 'wrong' card when he was subjected to a squeeze that I allowed by giving the wrong count with too high a card. Now he's allowed to pitch aces when the opponents have the king in the dummy. At trick 2. When he could have followed suit. And blame me.

In my view, 3 is a cuebid with two possible meanings:
1) choice of games with nonvulnerable values in spades (say: AQx, AJT, AKx) and problems in minor(s)
2) megamaximum for hearts, trying for slam (say: Axx Kx Axxx xxxx)

4, because of field and pard is likely short in clubs. May be able to take 11 tricks in hearts versus 9/10 in NT.

3 is choicce of games. Says nothing that specific about spades, allthough I obviously still cannot hold 4.

I'll bid, though I really expect partner to bid 4 quite a lot of the times 3NT is the spot. But as my alternative is 4, nothing much is lost.

Near perfect hand for 3S COG.
From Psych "I mean, Gus and I never see eye-to-eye on work stuff.
For instance, he doesn't like being used as a human shield when we're being shot at.
I happen to think it's a very noble way to meet one's maker, especially for a guy like him.
Bottom line is we never let that difference of opinion interfere with anything."

I like 3 because it's sexy (as far as bridge goes, which is, admittedly, not very far.)
