Try a Romex system source. They used two way game tries back in the day.
It is a way to use both short suit and long suit game invites.
The cheapest step is a relay so that you can show a long suit game try.
1S-2S-2NT*-3C-bid your long red suit naturally here and a 3S rebid shows clubs

Direct bids show a short suit game try. 1S-2S-3 non spades shows shortness.

Robert

Ron Klinger published a similar structure (without the power try) in The Modern Losing Trick Count, but reversing the meanings so that the direct bids are long suit tries, and the short suit tries go through the relay.

I play a modified version with James, where 2♠/hearts and 2NT/spades is any long suit try, and the rest are shortage-showing transfers (with a Keri-like continuation allowing us to "complete the transfer" with interest giving partner room to make a slam try if neeeded).

1♠ - 2♠
????
2NT = I don't have shortness but maybe you have ?
3♣/3♦/3♥ = shortness in bid suit !
after:
1♠ - 2♠
2NT - ???
3♣ = I don't have shortness
3♦/3♥/3♠ = I have shortness in ♦/♥/♣
1♠ - 2♠
2NT - 3♣
????
3♦/3♥/3♠ = I have help suit game try in: ♦/♥/♣
I've never play this way as I am not big fan of fancy stuff but it seems like the best way to combine various game tries if you want to do that.

I like this too. The first step ask for shortage also means you are revealing information about dummy, not declarer, which is good.

I know I've been disappointing a number of these search requests, but maybe this time this could help you?
it's fred's game try structure.
warning it's very advanced

Thanks Gwnn. Enjoyed reading this old thread.
FTR, Sathya and I play 1-2-3 stop only in hearts. Might be the MP beast in us

More on the record - I can't stand 2-way game tries. I used to like them, and there are probably some old posts where I said I played them, because I used to.

1M:2M 2M+1 asks partner in which suit he would accept a help suit game try.
Any other bid by 1M bidder is a short suit game try.

I thought this is called Kokish Game Try in my area. Maybe I am wrong. I frequently heard the discussion in new partnership like "do you play Kokish game try?" and I would like to know what that is.
