Is it standard to play inverted minors as on by a passed hand? I'm referring to an auction like:

P - (P) - 1 - (P)
2!

Also, if inverted is on by a passed hand, is it acceptable for opener to pass with a minimum hand (as game is unlikely)? Or should opener bid 3 anyway, since good opponents will usually balance over 2?

I don't know what is "standard", but my partners tend to prefer keeping the inverted minor structure the same for a passed hand (in which case 2 shows a limit raise with 4+ diamonds). As opener with a minimum and 5 diamonds I would usually rebid 3 and hope to shut the opponents out.

Yes
Yes
No
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

I would certainly assume they are on in 3rd seat unless we explicitly agreed otherwise.

Passing the raise I would think works much the same as passing any other "forcing by an unpassed hand" bid. Subminimum openers with unexciting distribution can bail out, but more often than not make your system bid.

I would assume they're on if we'd agreed to play them, however I prefer to play them off.

True I suppose. Although, usually I am not too keen to open one of a minor, subminimum, with unexciting distribution.

No strong feelings but its something I always discuss. When we haven't gone past the NT section of the cc, I would assume they are on BPH.
