In the July ACBL Bulletin on Page 58, David Bird's "Abbot" column shows this auction:
3S - 6D
Sound familiar?
6D makes because the Abbot does not make the 9 of diamonds opening lead; the only lead to set 6D.
Besides the funny auction that surely rings a bell, the bidder's hand was:
Void AKQx AKQJT2 Axx
Now it turns out (although David B. doesn't mention it) that 7H is cold on any lead.
If someone at the monastery would just learn to bid (his second best) 4 card suit, well, what a story we might have?!
