Does ESP equal UI? How much ESP is in bridge?

I will often plan my bidding in advance based on "if partner overcalls 1♠" or whatever and then voila! Just planning ahead this way allows a smooth poker face continuation when you "guess" right.
Or if it happens too often, are you really just guessing?

With your psionic powers, right?

I would.
At top flights I'd recommend "Tower of Iron Will" that relies on the super-ego to build an unassailable haven for the brain.
Oh good grief...

BUT
I think it couldn't hurt when playing against the better more insightful players,
to either think about Hawaii beaches
or say
"I have the queen of trump" over and over to yourself
when you don't!
Of course once he sees what you are doing, you have to mix it up,

Actually that is the 91-version
Somebody must have used "Mental Surgery" at fourth level of mastery, to make you forget that.
Which is, by the way, AD&D psionics from the 80'. (Dragon Magazine #78, October 1983.)
Do not underestimate the power of the dark side. Or the ninth trumph.
Best Regards Ole Berg

The next board he is on another queen guess to make 4S and he actually started levitating in his chair! He was trying to look into my hand! I called the director but he instantly stopped levitating and there was no proof (his partner obviously didn't notice), and I sat there while he picked off my queen. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr.
We lost the match by a lot, and to this day I still think it is really unethical to use wizard or other psychic powers at the bridge table, because IMO it is just not in the spirit of the game.

Finding your own mistakes is more productive than looking for partner's. It improves your game and is good for your soul. (Nige1)

Time to play, her partner arrived and he was a dwarf with a hunchback. The bidding boxes hung over the edge of the table and first bid, as soon as he touched the box it exploded out the bottom like dropping a boulder in a pool.
I've never felt so doomed in all my life and in 7 boards, we lost about 85 - zip.

P.S. When all these poker pros take a long time to make a call and seem to be meditating, sure they may be reading body language, but I wonder if there's more "reading" being attempted? Phil comment?
