I guess you are serious? Pass for me is one of the most obvious bids I have ever seen.

of course I'm serious. I held this hand at the club and did something and got a good score and if I had done something else, I'd have gotten a worse score. This is much more serious than many of my threads where I just post a decision which later proved to be almost completely irrelevant to the outcome of the hand. I got reminded by the other thread by this hand.

With an opening hand, four of the unbid major, and tolerance of the two unbid minors, I double.

I think given the heart values and that the opponents are vul at mps while we have all this defense, I would pass. Although in the abstract I'm sure I double on more 13 counts with this shape than not.

There appears to be little to gain entering bidding just now. If p cannot balance somehow over 1h then we probably cant make anything. If opps start bidding then we can consider if it feels safe to enter the bidding later. For ex lets say they bid 1h 1s 2c 2h we just might want to keep to ourselves:) but if bidding goes 1h 1n 2c 2h p then an x (hoping for spade fit) seems warranted. Bidding now increases danger (if p is broke) or risks us getting overboard if p just short of an opening bid.

Exact distribution and very similar HCP spread to a hand from segment seven of the round of 8 in the trials. At the table I was watching, the double escaped for no loss, but 6 imps could have been donated if the opponents had let them have the contract.

LOL can't believe I'm doing this but the 4th spade makes me double. We are NV and we have spades - gotta get in there.

I have a long history of passing these hands on the forums, but I've been competing with these in real life and have done fine.

If not for the 4th spade I would pass in a flash.

I'll double. Just. It would be auto if partner wasn't a passed hand. My style has shifted massively here, it's just safer to come in earlier rather than guess later. Pard might help me get off to the right lead against a heart contract as well.

If the K were the Ace then I would double. In this scenario it's a little bit more likely to be our hand, and we're also less likely to suffer heart ruff(s).

Agree with Apollo, I would also pass.
and the result can be plotted on a graph.

Neither am I when this flat with 13 but I don't hate doubling here with Axxx in so I think it is a close decision upon further consideration.

I would double, we are white at MP and I have a nonembarrassing hand with four spades.
