North: xx xxx Jxx AK10xx

South: KQJxx AKxx - Qxxx

East opens 1D, opponents are silent after that. What would be a good aucion to reach 6C?
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

If you don´t play Exclusion, or you don´t play it at the 4 level you could handle this way:

dbl-3
4*-4**
5-6.

4= splinter.
4= I am not gonna bid a negative with this.

I like the exclusion auction.

So far I've been playing that a jump above game-level is exclusion. Is it better to agree that a jump above our suit at the 4-level is exclusion?

Hannie:

Exclusion 4 works well here if you play 4 as RKCB (Minorwood). If you play Kickback (where 4 is RKCB), then 4 simply confirms trump, but is forcing and ask for a cue. 4N would be exclusion the way I play in my other partnership, which turns out to be a little bulky here, but its an acceptable risk.

Agree with Luis auction.
